The talented chef Rose Holland advertises a telephone company to get money for their own restaurant. The young widow, Lady Nicole Sherberton cares since the death of her husband at their lovely but headstrong mother Lady Claire Sherberton. It is generally expected that Captain Gregory Armitage, the best friend of Lady Nic's late husband, will continue after the year of mourning for her hand. Nic seems to agree. Gregory Nic and Claire visited frequently and knows a solution, as both require a chauffeur: Duncan Fraser, one of his best officers, who had to leave the Navy.
