The young widow Helena Beaufort ( Susanne Gärtner ), a qualified art critic, returns to her husband's death from dare to Hong Kong in their home to England to start over. Her best friend Kitty Williams ( Alexandra Helmig ), head of the local art academy, and Helen's father's friend Vincent (Chiem van Houweningen), a sculptor, their first point of contact and support them in their plans as a freelance art critic in England to work. A friend of Kitty Stuart Winslow ( Daniel pipe) runs a prestigious art gallery in town. Stuart exclusively promotes the "shooting star" of the art scene, the painter Malcolm Caplain ( Jochen Horst ). Stuart's sister, Daphne Winslow ( Sabine Bach ) is the manager and Exgeliebte of the artist. Daphne Malcolm has established set of PR as press-shy artist, so it no one has ever seen. When Helena arrives in Plymouth takes place just a great opening for Malcolm.
